Ahhhh....fuck it

The more I think about it...the more I'm hoping that Michigan starts the season 0-4. While it may be next to impossible to lose to an equally shitty Notre Dame team, its the best thing that can happen for the program.

Its been apparent for quite some time that college football has moved beyond UM & the current coaching staff. I was pretty surprised when they ran Jim Hermann and Stan Parrish out of the program in the past two seasons. While on offense they just regurgitated old coordinator Mike DeBord, it had appeared that they found a gem in Ron English at defensive coordinator. My how things have changed. English has gone from being on the fast track to the next UM head coach to me not caring if he got hit by a bus.

In truth, I'm not sure if its really English's fault that the defense is so pathetically pourous given the number of high quality players the team lost to the NFL. But...it is increasingly frustrating that no matter who UM employs to run the defense, they can't seem to game plan for even a marginal spread offense. Why the hell can everyone else seem to defend it??? As I stated in a previous post: the book has been written on beating UM. Just go five wide and operate underneath the coverage and with draw plays. One missed tackle (of which there have been a number with the new starters on D) and you're picking up chunks of yards.

Anyway...the offense is actually even worse and disapointing. Its not even worth talking about. The whole team has given up at this point. I'm one uninspired game against ND from going Wolverine free. I pray to God that the Tigers make the playoffs or its going to be a very boring fall for me.

Edit: An 0-4 start to the season may be just what the program needs to get out of 1978. I have to believe that Carr would do what he felt was in the best interest of the program and step down. Bill Martin would do what he does: can the entire coaching staff except Scott Loeffler.
