I have a lot of thoughts on this and figure its probably best just to stream of conscience it. First, thanks for coming back to win that national championship Hart, Henne, & Long. Couldn't have done it without you.
There is no doubt in my mind after watching that game this afternoon that Michigan got beat by a better team. Let that sink in for a second Wolvies......THEY GOT BEAT BY A BETTER TEAM. You'll notice that I didn't say that they beat themselves or the referees/timekeepers fucked them. THEY WERE NOT THE BEST TEAM ON THE FIELD. Flat out. In fact, App State actually tried to bumble that game away with turnovers and penalties and couldn't seem to pull a UM and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I was sick to my stomach with all the retarded Wolverine faithful cheering for interceptions and fumbles and yelling for penalties: simply begging to get bailed out of one of the biggest upsets in college football.
In my mind there are two types of UM fans. Those arogant bastards that went to school there and whole-heartedly believe that Michigan has never lost a game. Put in other words, should the playing field be appropriately level, Michigan does not lose. The second type is the non-college educated drunk that picked up a $5 shirt from Wal-Mart (hence "Walmart Wolvies") I'm not sure which one I detest more, but I was surrounded by them at the bar watching this game b/c the BigTen Notwork/Comcast can't kiss and make-up. By the end of the third quarter I had become an App State fan. I simply couldn't take the amount of hang-wringing excuses coming from all these idiots. No one could accept that App State was a better team.
Consider this: App State had the entire offseason to get ready for this game. They have the exact personnel that has always given Michigan problems on defense and executed as well as any I-AA could be expected given the environment. It really isnt a mystery though: spread the field with 5 wide-receivers and run draw plays up the middle. App State's QB was an infinitely better runer than Troy Smith. I have more about this....edit later
