ESPN just completed a survey based on individuals’ opinions of Barry Bonds, broken down by race. According to the survey, white people think Barry Bonds took steroids because he’s black, or something to that affect.
Look, I’m not one of those naïve people that will argue that racism doesn’t exist. It does, which is equally as sad and twice as absurd as during the pre-Civil Rights Era. But seriously people, what the f#@$! Like RJ said with Clemens, do you need to see a picture of Bonds with a needle sticking out of his ass? He admitted, UNDER OATH, that he took the "cream "and the "clear", which are plutonium-like supplements that, while not steroids, are specifically designed to be used in conjunction with anabolic steroids. I don’t think Barry Bonds took steroids or illegal supplements because he’s black…I think it because his jaw line doubled in size in two years (ummm...HGH?) and he miraculously put on 25 lbs. of muscle at age 35.
You have no-talent ass-clowns like Stephen A. Smith trying to fuel the fire by even making the argument that white people dislike Bonds because he's black. Stephen A., who this site will now refer to as Cornhole (because I can) also made a statement that MLB is looking stupid because they can’t prove he took steroids. What the hell do they need? It’s not like they are going to get direct evidence if he took GHB, he juiced way before testing, has almost assuredly flushed it out of his system, and is not dumb enough to still be taking something traceable by MLB testing. Nevermind the practical reality that the so-called “nutrition companies” read the news like everyone else and create supplements (ahem, the "cream" and the "clear") that won’t be detectable under current testing. George Mitchell can search all he wants and won't find any direct evidence. But he doesn't need to come up with a photo of Bonds injecting Stanozolol into his buttchecks to sway me.
Again, how is this even debatable? I’m not even trying being a dickhead right now (a first for me), but seriously, how can anyone make the argument to the contrary? The mountains of circumstantial evidence – the admissions about the cream and the clear, his “trainer” getting arrested for steroids, the numerous allegations that he used, the picture-by-picture comparison of him physically over the years – are too much for me to come to any other conclusion than this guy ingested horse steroids like Flintstones vitamins. I don’t need a shot of Barry Bonds joyfully jacking a needle in his hindquarters - I got all the information I need, and he took illegal supplements based on the mountains of evidence. It's not because he’s black...although it might be based a tiny bit on how much of an asshole he is.
As for those of you who questioned why I didn’t do NBA Playoff second round prediction, what’s the point? I mean, besides the fact that I know about as much as the so-called prognosticators on your local talk radio (which, for the slow of thought, is not much), there is not much to talk about. Come talk to me when the Spurs and Pistons meet in the finals…actually, you don’t need to. The Spurs will beat the Stones in 6. Season done.
The second round has been, and will continue to be, horrifyingly boring. As I’m writing this, the Pistons are absolutely dominating a lackadaisical and seemingly nervous
The only series worth watching is
So I hoped you enjoyed the NBA first round, because the remainder of the playoffs will remind everyone of the regular season…which means, if you're lucky, there is something else to watch on TV.
Oh, and for anyone who cares, as a Red Sox fan, I could not be more happy Clemens went to the Yankees. I hated him as a Red Sox, as a Blue Jay, as a Yankee, as an Assho, and now again as a Yankee. I can’t wait for his gun-for-hire, HGH ingesting ass to end his career flaming out in a 5-7, 4.41 ERA fashion.
